Win Sponsors™ is a training program teaching the science of sponsorship acquisition. Sponsorships have proven to be an effective funding method for events, influencers, nonprofits, authors, and entrepreneurs. Many companies view sponsorships as a valuable part of their business strategy. It provides opportunities for increased brand awareness, sampling, and customer cultivation. As the planners, influencers and fundraisers, it is critical that you understand the rules to building partnerships and increasing your sponsor dollars through mutually beneficial solutions. We have several services available to assist you with sponsorship acquisition.



Sponsorship classes are the core of our services. We offer several classes for various education levels to help nonprofit and for profit clients win more sponsors.



If you can’t make a live event, we offer webinars and online training where you can study at your own pace.



We provide consulting to organizations, large and small, to help achieve your goals. We are available to assist in acquiring sponsors for your event or create a sponsorship deck that will get you noticed. Need another set of eyes on your sponsor proposals? Live Win Sponsors Tour

This conference is open to event planners, business owners, nonprofits, authors, influencers and anyone who can benefit from corporate sponsorships.

You will work on your new sponsorship deck during the sessions and hear from a panel of corporate executives who process sponsorship requests for their organizations. Lunch is provided.

The Trainer

Deona Smith

With more than 15 years of experience, Deona Smith is a seasoned sponsorship professional. She spent 10 years in the brewing industry where she was the director of community relations; approving sponsorship requests and building relationships. After leaving the beer business, Deona created the Sister Summit Foundation where she found herself on the other side of the ask. While directing Sister Summit, she secured partnerships with large and small corporations like Wal-Mart, State Farm, Southwest Airlines, and others. Through the years, she has shared her winning strategies of securing and servicing sponsors. Now, she’s training organizations and individuals around the country to make corporate connections.

Deona is the founder and director of Sister Summit, an organization formed to empower women and girls. Sister Summit produces expos, conferences and workshops that provide education and inspiration in the areas of personal and professional development.

Before that, Deona spent several years as a marketing administrator in the brewing industry in Washington, D.C., working with Beer Institute and providing regulatory marketing oversight for the likes of Heineken, Miller, Coors and Anheuser-Busch. Later she served as director of community relations for the Charleston, SC area’s Anheuser-Busch distributor, where she handled media relations, community outreach, corporate communications, and charitable giving.

She has received numerous honors including being named by Charlie Magazine as “One to Watch” in the South Carolina Lowcountry, the MOJA Arts Festival’s Rising Star Award and the Epicurean Club’s Entrepreneur of the Year. Deona has served on many boards including the SC Women’s Business Center and Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. She is also a former board member of Art Forms and Theatre Concepts, the outreach committee for TEDx Charleston, and the Junior League.
